Plitvice Lakes are National Park that are the
oldest and the largest national park of the Republic of Croatia. The park is
located in the Croatian mountain region, between the mountain range of the Mala
Kapela and Lička Plješivica, and because its exceptional natural beauty, it has
always attracted nature lovers and adventurists. The lake system consists of numerous
bigger and smaller cascade-sized lakes. The lake system is divided into Upper
and Lower Lakes. One of them are Prošćansko Jezero, Veliko and Malo Jezero,
Lake Kaluđerovac etc. The lakes are ending with imposing waterfalls at the
Suburbs, at the foot of which begins the flow of the Korana River.
The Plitvice Lakes National Park offers visitors
eight lakeside tour programs, four hiking trails, and is open to visitors all year round and is located at 1.5
hour drive from Camping Ugljan Resort.
