Nature Park Telašćica

Telašćica Bay is located in the central part of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, in the southeastern part of the island of Dugi otok. Due to its exceptional beauty, richness and importance, this bay, surrounded by 13 islands and islets, and has six islets within the bay, was proclaimed the 1988 Nature Park. The area of ​​the Nature Park of Telašćica is an area rich in opposites, quiet and peaceful beaches and on one side and wild steep cliffs on the other side, the area of ​​Aleppo pine and oak groves on one side, and rocks on the other, the area covered by vineyards and olive groves, but also the area of ​​degraded forms of vegetation covering the dry habitats.
The three fundamental phenomena are the main features of this area: the unique Telašćica bay as the safest, most beautiful and largest natural harbor in the Adriatic Sea, where there are 25 small beaches, the steep slopes of the island of Dugi otok or the so-called “rock”, up to 161 meters above sea level descend to depths up to 90 m, and finally poured lake “Mir” with healing properties. The most spectacular among the islands is the island of Katina, and the most unusual is Taljurić.
